I used docking station for work since the 90's. I always bought the one from the computer manufacture, then at night bring the laptop home and don't have to worry about theft. The only problem with a OEM dock is the price that usually runs 300-400 dollars. But it was better than leaving a desktop at work and having a B&E.

I have always used a Desktop at home ever since I got into computers in the late 80's. Nothing beats a good desktop, and upgrading its really nice, something you can't do with a laptop. Try upgrading your laptop video card.
