Well it is better than nothing but we agree... and the Sikh/Turban hair.. well that is Maurice having fun :)

Helmets are good for low speed impact to prevent concussion say and abrassions .. but pretty well it.. My son had a concussion ski racing and he had top of line helmet... same in hockey.. of course no helmet would be worse.. so I am not advocating that for sports.. he only hit the slope in ski race.. (a couple of times.. no trees/barriers) .. I've had a couple of good spills on slopes and just prefer the comfort of helmet now.. only adopted one in my 40s.. I would be less confident without.. then again lack of confidence on slopes is like lack of confidence behind the wheel.. causes accidents... so it is a balancing game IMO..

I've dropped a few dirt bikes in my day and a road bike once at speed.. helmet does prevent scraping wounds.. if you manage to slide your road bike (I did) to dissipate kinetic energy over distance (and crash bars to keep bike mostly off your body) let go of bike and likely you bounce and bounce and bounce.. not good at all..

as far as adults using helmets .. on bikes (motorcycle) I think it should be mandatory across the board irrespective of religion.. we have public healthcare.. so if you want to keep that follow safety rules.. simple.. else.. no healthcare for motorcycle accidents without helmet.. Let folks decide what they want when riding... helmet or not also irrespective of religion and accept consequences...
