Proper engineering is the key to safety.
Also the pollution of EV manufacture and disposal are orders of magnitude worse than conventional vehicles.
Yes, but over the lifetime of an electric vehicle, the energy usage and the carbon footprint still ends up lower than that of an equivalent gas-powered vehicle.

Still, electric vehicles have a carbon footprint, and it's nowhere near zero. That was my original point to Eric, but he's still convincing himself that his impact on the environment is negligible, which of course it isn't.
