I am still harvesting brussels sprouts and the beans I grow to dry and use in soups, which I will be making in a few weeks. I also need to transplant a blueberry bush and clean up the garden of a neighbour who got sick. And of course there is, always, disciplining the blackberries, which never stops. Among the ingredients for my fall soup, besides the beans... Carrots Celery Turnips Brussels sprouts Cabbage Kohlrabi Leeks Onions Garlic Thyme Sage Lemon juice Fresh ground pepper This soncoction has a very earthy flavour; in fact I like to describe it as if you took the top six inches of soil in my garden and everything growing on it, squashed it all up, and extracted all the yummy flavours.
