The so-called "safety standards" currently in place only account for thermal damage to human tissue from relatively high levels of microwaves. Unfortunately, there are plenty of non-thermal effects due to the fact that humans are electro-chemical organisms operating on thresholds of tens of millivolts. There are voltage gated calcium channels (VGCCs) that respond to very low levels of microwave radiation and there is also oxidative damage to contend with which essentially puts the human body in a constant state of stress response. This leads to cancer and other chronic diseases whose causes are often misdiagnosed because doctors have not been trained properly regarding this new threat.

The advance of the technology has far surpassed the safety standards and a trillion dollar industry is not going to submit easily to the reality that we are all being harmed continuously and this could be the next asbestos, thalidomide, etc. Cell phone manufacturers warn investors in their prospectuses of possible future litigation due to the health threat but it's very well buried in the users' manuals. Large insurers like Lloyd's of London simply won't insure against radio frequency damages. What does that tell you? Follow the money!
