I believe Del to be a man of vision and an outstanding CEO. I believe the stock is still seven bucks and those losers, by definition, at VSGN failed to make a profit again. The ABM crowd did get a nice gift from Netscape today in the form of free source code and hopefully BORL is jumping on that with both feet. My main hope for BORL is that Microsoft's encroachment into the bank's retailer's and broadcaster's markets will accelerate both Java and CORBA into the enterprise and into homes. Simple advice for the ABM Alliance: #1 Give the browser away for free (tink! done) #2 Give away a Visual Basic-like development tool for Java, for free. Revenues will flow from component sales to end-users and developer add-ons. That is why Mr. Potato Head was such a success: they gave away the potato and charged an arm and a leg for the arms and legs.
