Barr doesn't have anything from his bogus Origins investigation. If he had something important, Trump would be screaming a/b it right now. Barr can't show his cards w/ a lousy hand, so his move is to extend the conspiracy theory. He's stalling. He couldn't deliver for Trump.

Barr can't stop the wild goose chase because he has nothing and it would look like an exoneration. "Expanding" the investigation is the play, to leave the stain of an open investigation. Total stalling
