Tenchu's Thoughts: A Grand Slam for Trump

The slaying of Alibaba Baghdadi represents nothing less than a grand slam for Trump. Here are the reasons why.

1) America First: For America, it was better that Trump did it than Putin or Erdogan or one of Baghdadi's many Arab rivals. That lends a kind of "street cred" to America's military might and tells terrorists all around the world that they could be next.

2) That Chump Putin: Speaking of Putin, the raid made Russia look like complete and utter idiots. Beforehand, Russia was on record saying that they didn't know where Baghdadi was, but that they were sure he wasn't in Idlib. Afterwards, Russia questioned whether the raid even took place and dismissed the reports as nothing more than "propaganda." In short, Trump made Putin look like a grade-A chump.

3) Wah wah Pelosi: You know who else looked like chumps? The Democrats in Congress. Pelosi complained that Congress wasn't informed of the raid beforehand, as if Trump owed the treacherous Democrats ANY favors whatsoever.

4) Hillaryhawks: I can't help but gloat at all of the Hillaryhawks who claimed that Trump withdrawing from Syria was the wrong thing to do. "Oh, think of the poor Kurds!" "Oh, you're just helping Putin and Erdogan!" "Orange man bad!" I have always been of the opinion that we should NOT be in Syria, except to eliminate ISIS. Whatever happens in that civil war, IDGAF. The assassination of Baghdadi fits right into that belief of mine.

5) Roach Infestation: Of course, ISIS won't be eliminated with the death of Baghdadi, but it doesn't matter. You don't let roaches live in your house just because they'll return after you kill them. Trump showed that he is more than willing AND capable of using that big can of Raid right at the source of the roach infestation.

6) Live From New York, It's Saturday Night: The media ended up looking like fools once again. Saturday Night Live, for example, aired an episode where they portrayed ISIS being thankful of Trump withdrawing from Syria. You know when that episode aired? About five minutes after the raid took place. Great job, SNL! You guys continue to spiral down the drain of irrelevancy. (Sad given how you used to be the starting point of many successful acting careers, from Chevy Chase to Eddie Murphy to Adam Sandler to Will Ferrell, etc. etc.)

7) Democracy Dies in Wokeness: The oh-so-righteous Washington Post published a real knee-slapper. They published an obituary of Alibaba Baghdadi with the headline, "Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, austere religious scholar at helm of Islamic State, dies at 48." You can't make this shit up, ladies and gentlemen (and snowflakes who identify as "other genders"). Already the Internet mememakers are having a field day with #wapodeathnotices, and I highly encourage everyone, even the left-wing Trump-haters, to Google that hashtag.

8) Obama's slaying of Osama bin Laden: I for one welcome comparisons between this raid and the slaying of Osama bin Laden, because although Osama was a much bigger villain than Baghdadi, Obama was anything but willing to give the order. Multiple reports stated that Obama had to be convinced by his advisors to give the order. Even then, the photo of Obama in the situation room made him look like a teenager who didn't want to be there. I'm pretty sure Trump knew this too when he posed for that "manly" photo op:

Of course, let's not forget that "Democracy Dies In Darkness" ...

9) Impeachment: Of course, the Democrats won't stop impeachment proceedings. No one expected them to, and quite frankly, they shouldn't given how much they've invested in this political strategy. But once again, this raid makes the Democrats look like they're focusing on petty political matters while Trump is focusing on carrying out the roles and responsibilities of the presidency.

10) Epic Troll Moment: I couldn't help but smile when Trump claimed that Alibaba Baghdadi "died like a dog. He was whimpering, screaming, crying. He died like a coward." Objectively, it is unlikely that anyone can confirm exactly the way Baghdadi died except via suicide vest. But that doesn't matter. Trump said that in order to troll ISIS and its followers. They deserved to be trolled, and it'd be nice if some in the mainstream media played along. Instead, we're likely going to get the "fact-checkers" to say ...

11) The World Series: Last but not least, the World Series is going on, and the Washington Nationals are in it for the first time as a baseball franchise. (That's why I used the phrase "grand slam," because for those of you who aren't familiar with baseball, a "grand slam" is the biggest, best play a single player can make in the game.) Anyway, Trump of course gets booed when he shows up at Game 5 in the Nationals' home stadium, which isn't surprising given that the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia area is like 90% Democrat. But then in poetic fashion, the Houston Astros win the game by a huge margin and puts the Washington Nationals on the brink of elimination. One could argue that the Nationals fans jinxed themselves when they booed the president.
