Informative group of announcements you have gathered. It's clear the xDSL (Particularly ADSL) market is gaining momentum. (I'm in it through Pairgain, which cross-licences with Aware). You submitted this post in response to the SBC-downgrade post. Are you implying that xDSL presents a threat to CSCO and other router/switch marketers? I thought the two technologies were complementary, as the telcos will have both bandwidth-enhancing products in their shops, and thus will need better switches/routers to direct traffic? Am I confused? (Well, yes I am confused about a lot of things--but is my understanding of these two product groups accurate?)

In any case, the effect of the xDSL products will be delayed until the end of 1998, I understand. The roll-out on these products just seems to be taking forever.
