I just try to not sugarcoat things and thus delude myself. Arch and chiplet (lite?) were essential features of Zen 1 too, and if you look, although AMD stock shot up, their market share didn't very much, now we are in Zen 2, also with more arch and chiplet features, but 7nm placing them ahead of the comp, vs Zen 1 which was not process ahead of the comp, and its looking like they finally might make meaningful share gain. Zen 1 just kept them out of BK, not much more. If you look at Epyc1, it was an Epyc failure as a product effectively over its lifespan, it didn't pay back its costs, but it paved the way for Rome, which will make its costs back and more.

I think you should cut them a break.
