Bid is a transaction price when some one sells, ask is buy>>

thx......i do understand the defintion of bid and ask----what i am having trouble iwth is when i look at real time quotes and see
B 10
A 10 1/4
last price 10 1/4

then a few minutes later
B 10
A 10 1/4
last price 10

in the second example if i had an order in to buy at 10 would i have gotten it??

maybe its the "last price" that is troubling me

sorry if im not stating my question clearly
