I couldn't agree more. Giving up all control. On the other hand, I'm sure myself and plenty of others here would have been happy to "play by the rules" if we had grandparents willing to fund us at an early age. I also believe their parents will play a big role. If they are paycheck to paycheck people it probably won't work out well. My son-in-law knows the benefits of investing. Even though my daughter isn't going back to work until the boys are both school age, he has fully funded her Roth all the way along.
