I have no dog in this partisan dogfight, but I am astounded that so many Americans seem to just be discovering the level of corruption in the deep state. Ever since Teddy Roosevelt started meddling in Cuba and Central America, the deep state meddling has only gotten worse. The Kennedy brothers tried to clean house at the CIA, State Dept., and FBI, and reclaim power from the Dulles brothers and Hoover for the executive. We all know how that turned out...they wound up dead. I worked for eight years for the military and NSA, but I was young and idealistic, thinking I was making the world a better place. I had a ringside seat in northern Thailand as I watched the CIA transport drugs out of the Golden Triangle into Chang Mai and on to the US. I resigned in disgust as I realized my values were being corrupted and my life had no value in the Big Picture of things. The Deep State really does exist and it has nothing to do with partisan politics. It has existed, and will continue to exist through both Democratic and Republican administrations. Did the Bidens receive kickbacks for Ukrainian favors? Of course they did. Did Trump exert pressure on the Ukrainians? Of course he did. I would not expect less from either one. Impeachment may be the best option for Trump. He is arrogant enough to think he has real power as president. Impeachment may save his life. The swamp is much bigger and more vicious than he ever imagined. IMO, if he is reelected, he may not make it through a second term. The Swamp will win.
