These would be the same people that are fine with Germany becoming dependent on the Nord Stream pipeline majority owned by the Russian state.

The people on this thread that still believe Trump is in bed with Putin are obviously ignorant about this pipeline. Trump has hammered Angela Merkel for being so incautious. Other European leaders are skeptical, too, but it appears right now that she will go ahead with it anyway. LNG is a costly alternative.

I might be fine if the US left NATO. Not only for the cost of it but also for the fact it obligates us to go to the aid of any country that gets crosswise with Russia. These obligating alliances have turned skirmishes into full blown wars, WWI being one example. If Germany gets double-crossed by Russia in the future over this pipeline then I prefer that my country is in the position to CHOOSE whether or not to get involved. Most likely the US will always want to come to the aid of any European country but I prefer that we not be obligated.

Back to Ukraine though, it occurs to me that that little country must have been a honeypot for the last decade. Like Manafort, John Podesta's brother made a fortune there as a lobbyist. There are others whose names I forget. Maybe the whole lot should be investigated.
