Mergers are of course part of the growth Pepsi had over the decades, but what I see is your underlying assumption that progress and technological improvement is a path to the extinction of jobs. History has shown that luddites have always been wrong. The latest scaremongering over robots and AI is just the latest version of luddite thinking.

I'm surprised you are falling for it. Millennials are supposed to be the most highly educated and technologically savvy of any generation that came before them. In large part, they have been on the forefront of building on the the first generation of AI concepts that Generation X pioneered. I don't know if you are a Millennial, but your position is diametrically opposed to the very generation that is making AI possible and finding incredibly creative ways of using AI. AI was responsible for companies like Uber that have revolutionized the cab business. Did it kills some jobs? Yes. But it created far more jobs than it killed and it created enormous value in the process. The Uber story is one of creative destruction and the story is not fully played out yet. So we'll have to see if they crash and burn. But the concept of the sharing economy was born and has blossomed into many other sharing economy businesses that have created enormous wealth, millions of jobs, and tremendous increases in the standard of living.

Don't fall into the trap of being a luddite. Technology absolutely can be harmful, but we can figure out how to get the best of it for society to help lift all boats. Banning it or ignoring it doesn't help.

What exactly is your proposal for the rushing tide of AI and Robotics?
