Your speculation is weak.

When (IF) you have an unstable insecure puberty basketcase (IF), that could cause a media frenzy and undermine the presidency, then you cannot take chances (guessing if she's lying or not) and let the "hyenas" take a hold of her. You'd like to contain the fires as much as possible as early as possible.
This speculation could just as easily explain your concerns.

As to Clinton's constantly tellig stories:
Could you blame him when he is constantly bombarded with vicious attacks built(largely) on baseless lies.

You know what would have happened if he'd confessed to having smoked dope? He'd have lost the presidency. Don't you think that a "white lie" in these circumstances is forgivable. If all presidential candidates were brutaly honest all the time - then, in all probability, the US won't have another president. No one is perfect and unfortunately when fighting scum sometimes one gets some on themselves.
