My dog is not food motivated at all. Supposedly her breed is prone to overeating, but this one (and I have head it from other owners of the breed) rarely finishes her bowl, no matter how little I put in.
So far I've tried the Costco turkey, salmon, and lamb kibbles. She disliked the turkey, seemed to kinda like the salmon, and is so-so about the lamb. At least on paper, the Costco food is very well balanced with a lot of nutrition, various fruits, omega fats, pro and pre-biotics etc etc. Enough so that I suspect I don't eat well as my dog does :-/.
My main issue is that Mika doesn't seem to like her food. She seems to like purina (or some similar brand) chicken food. But that one is not as nutritious. So I am looking for ways to have the food both delicious and nutritious. I've had mixed results mixing peanut butter and Cesar's wet food with the kibbles. Sometimes she likes them, other times she will not go to it until really really hungry.
I am debating between going back to the salmon meal or trying yet another type of food. |
