My retired vet told me a lot of the allergies they're seeing in today's dogs and cats can be directly attributed to the fillers they put in their foods. Manufacturers have been using wheat and corn as fillers for yrs. Also chicken parts. My old gal had allergies...............she'd get that horrid ear gunk that had to be cleaned out at least twice a week..........but all of that disappeared when we eliminated wheat, chicken, beef and corn from her diet. She ended up on the Salmon and Rice Costco mix. We'd do venison and sweet potato once in awhile too. As long as we avoided wheat, corn, beef and chicken she was fine.
