Suite 822-510 West Hastings Street, Vancouver, B.C., V6B-1L8 Telephone (604) 689-1976 or 1-800-617-7747; Fax (604) 689-1978 Web Site: pacrim-mining.com Email: pacrim@cyberstore.com October 3, 1996 VSE: PFG LA COLORADA GEOPHYSICAL SURVEY The Board is pleased to announce that an airborne geophysical survey (magnetometer and potassium- thorium radiometric) has been completed upon La Colorada, Pacific Rim's 100% owned volcanogenic massive sulphide property in northwestern Argentina. Three large alterations identified by satellite imagery taken in 1994 will be now better understood upon interpretation of the results of this geophysical survey. La Colorada is in close proximity to the Mina Aguilar mine which has been in base metal production since 1936. Paleontological studies completed by Pacific Rim demonstrate similarities between the two properties. The size of the property is 55,000 hectares and has large intersection of copper, lead, zinc and silver. Pacific Rim has been negotiating with an outside major interest for their right to purchase, explore and develop the La Colorada property. The proposed purchase price would include cash payments, gross overriding royalties and net smelter returns. It is anticipated that the outcome of these negotiations will be known shortly.
