Pacific Biometrics Announces New Vice Presidents IRVINE, Calif.--(BW HealthWire)--Jan. 23, 1998--Pacific Biometrics Inc. (Nasdaq:PBMI - news) Friday announced the appointments of Allan Pronovost, Ph.D., as vice president of Research and Development and Sayed Badrawi as vice president of Marketing.
Pronovost was most recently vice president, R&D, Quidel Corp. [Nasdaq:QDEL - news], where he was responsible for the development of numerous diagnostic products for the physician office, laboratory, OTC and Point of Care Testing. Under his area of responsibility over 35 new FDA approved products were developed.
Prior to joining Quidel in 1987, Pronovost served in R&D management positions with Eastman Kodak, Orthodiagnostics Systems Inc. and New England Nuclear/DuPont.
Pronovost completed his post doctoral fellowship and clinical training in Clinical Virology & Immunology at Yale University School of Medicine, received his Ph.D and M.S. degrees from the University of Rhode Island and his B.S. from Quinnipiac College. He is the author of numerous articles and publications and is named on over 25 filed or issued patents.
Badrawi was most recently director of Marketing for Pacific Biometrics where he was responsible for developing the company's marketing strategies for its Osteopatch product. As vice president of Marketing, Badrawi will continue marketing and commercialization responsibilities for the Osteopatch as well as assisting the company in identifying new business opportunities for its saliva and sweat diagnostic platform technologies.
Prior to joining Pacific Biometrics, Badrawi held management positions at Dorne Medical Software, Abbott Laboratories [NYSE:ABT - news], and Eli Lilly and research positions at Amgen. Badrawi holds an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and an A.B. from the University of California at Berkeley.
Pacific Biometrics is an early stage company engaged in non-invasive diagnostics and laboratory services to improve the detection and management of chronic diseases.
