Only a backup generator. The 14KW Generac installed about 9 yrs ago came in with total cost of about $3,500 to $3,600, including install and ancillary wiring for the heavy duty automated switch. It's programed to start the Gen. after utility supplied power stays out 20 or 30 seconds. Avoids the unnecessary starts when the occasional "blink outs" of a few seconds occur with the power immediately coming back on.

Generac unit has been outstanding. Saved contents in the frozen food locker from melting down a number of times AWA keeping our two NG furnaces running in winter and the two A/C units in summer.
