The SEC can't just up and do that. Some specific prohibition would have to be in place based on a cease and desist or a Court judgment.
Not defending Aegis in any way, but that article is from 2017 and it was "shared" by other law firms in the broker ambulance chasing business. (If you did business with X and lost money, call 800........NOW!!!")

Maxim and Aegis are both pretty crummy outfits....as you might expect. NNVC won't find anyone to sell their stuff that isn't a desperado.
