Great if they can successfully apply this to industry. The article mentions it could be applied to cement production, which is a major contributor to the total CO2 emissions. But that is a long way off, and unproven. Of course, most of the CO2 produced from cement making comes from the release of CO2 from the lime rock itself. That won't change, even if the heat source comes from solar, rather than oil or gas.

But if they can make it work, and be cost competitive, it should be a good thing. Until the sun goes down.
