back in the late 60's i convinced my manager to issue credit on complaints under $25. i showed him it costs at least $25 to cancel an invoice and rebill the item. we were yet to have on line access to computers. all adjustments had to pulled from the files, manually credit out and then a new total invoice re-entered in the system. i suggested they just enter a value line , not process in and out invoices etc. it almost saved him a full person. yes, billing in those days was terrible. gg

i was really shocked dealing with a national airport parking company. my bmw 97 finally died on the way to the airport to catch a plane to dublin ireland. i called the company to get credit for a weeks parking. they told me credit would be issued in six to eight weeks. It never happen so i put a dispute on it to the cc company. a week later i hear from the parking company to cancel the dispute and they will issue credit. Plus send them a copy of the canceled dispute etc. I asked don't you have authority to just issue $58. ,,NOPE. they agreed they would issue credit but wanted the credit card dispute pulled?

two months later they tell the cc company dispute handled. i get notice of dispute closed as handled. i quickly sent them copies of parking company emails offering credit if only i would send them a letter of cancelled dispute.

i got the credit two days ago after cc company reactivated the dispute. it blows my mind how much waste of employee services at that company was spent on $58 …..
