You were setting a conditional question, not asking me what I thought. I think that abortion is necessary. From the larger perspective of world stress leading to greater deaths through war, starvation, illness and all the related costs in support of dealing with these problem.. population growth is perhaps THE QUESTION going forward.

It is very easy in a country with our wealth and resources to argue the rights of the not yet born, let those who believe this visit and LIVE IN countries where added mouths kill the living.

To me the abortion question is a small issue within a larger one. The real question is controlling population growth. This infringes on the basic biological "rights" and instincts of being alive.. to be fertile and have children. Its a moral and ethical question on who has the right to populate further, and who calls the shots on not and how much. The Chinese did it from the top down authority, they recognized it as the only way to stop their country from imploding.
