I need an explanation. I keep hearing that the "float" is 10 million, or some where in that area. Well, if the float is the total number of outstanding shares available for trading by the public,this float will expand or contract. Depending on the demand. If 17-18 Mil are closely held, this leaves 10 mil for the float.By your definition. Wouldn"t you reduce the total volume of the float by the number of shares publicly held? At this point one would gain an appreciation of what supply and demand really means. Just a question.
