Allen Funt on his old Candid Camera show told of a time they set up a prank in a hotel. The idea was that a staff member would get the reaction of a random guest who was asked to loan out his TV because the prankster's was broken and the hotel had no immediate replacement. One of the guests they caught was Mr. Rogers, but they didn't recognize him at first. Unlike everyone else who resisted in some way losing their TV like that, Fred was completely agreeable to meeting the other hotel guest's "emergency." Allen Funt said it proved Fred Rogers was the same off-camera as he was on TV.
