(1) Went

(1-i) short ExxonMobil finance.yahoo.com Jan 20 '20 Put strike 67.50 @ 1.35
... because oil is not dead, dividend is okay, stock near 52-wks low, and it is a better bet than a lot of other stuff. Trade war continuation and shale this and that, and ME something might move the stock one way or another, along w/ the options on same.

(1-ii) short CEO (CNOOC) finance.yahoo.com Jan 20 '20 Put strike @ 3.00

... because of same campaign logic.

(1-iii) short more Palladium PALL finance.yahoo.com @ 172.90

... am getting more comfortable w/ this +PPLT / -PALL campaign. Going forward am willing to lift one or the other part of the campaign front.

When global macro goes completely pear-shape, then no need for PALL even as PPLT is backstopped by its cost of extraction as well as basic need no matter what the global macro.

Should global macro go crackup boom, PPLT should ameliorate PALL counteraction, or something, and in any case offers opportunity to short more PALL. I think.

(2) Did ... hot chocolate, but this winter is very warm, suitable for shorts

(3) Ideas

Pondering ... when the FED will mouth falsehood re 'we shall not drop rates because ... whatever' to re-energise the market, and then to drop rate?

When shall people stretch for that last bit of cash yield before the lights are turned off?

How much can the Europeans and Japanese take of negative yields?

If and when would the Americans have first on-shore nominally negative-yielding instrument?
