My wisdom teeth were a nightmare. They weren't in yet, like most people, so I had to go to an oral surgeon, I was 18. I remember taking an antibiotic pill with no water as per the surgeon 1 hour before the appointment. It was not easy. Anyways, I was put under and all 4 teeth were removed.
A few days later I started to swell up like a chipmunk, both lowers were infected, the pain was horrendous throbbing pain, he had me on antibiotics and pain killers. When he was ready to drain the puss sacks, he injected me with freezing and I remember saying to him the freezing didn't take, he said I know, you are infected there, then I seen him grab a scalpel, and I said is this going to hurt and he replied a considerable amount. (this guy had no bedside manners, kind of an asshole) He cut deep into the sacks and pushed the puss out into my mouth where is assistant was using that suction tool, but I could still taste it, horrible taste and lots of pain, but at the same time the throbbing pain from the infection went away. A day or so later I remember pulling out medicated gauze from the incisions, they must have been 4 inches long. I recovered but still remember that like it was yesterday, this was back in 1981. |
