I didn't think Amazon would go to all that trouble. Do other online retailers do the same? There is on courier that Amazon uses in Canada, its call Intelcom. You get an email from them when the package is shipped, then you get one like this (so you have an approx time its delivered, when it is you get an email with photos of your house, where the package is and your house number):
