No doubt networking is getting off to a dismal start in '98. However, fundamentals of ATM/FORE have never been better. To borrow a term from TA, we have a bullish divergence. My guess is FORE will do well in '98 but not in the short-term. Even CSCO's chart is turning bearish. If CSCO falls, and I expect it will, the sector will finally bottom out, providing an excellent entry point. Hard to believe FORE could go lower that 12-13 = 20FPE.
