Negotiations were initiated to acquire a majority interest in an alluvial titanium
zirconium property in Kazakhstan. The property is reported to have a proven
resource of 11 million tonnes (6.5 million cubic metres) grading 4.01% ilmenite
equivalent (ilmenite, rutile and leucoxene) and 2.78% zircon with a potential
resource of 40 million cubic metres in three deposits. Extensive sampling of drill
holes and pits was carried out on a 400 metre grid within an area approximately 5
by 2km with 50 metre drill hole and pit spacing. A large bulk sample was also
mined and subjected to tests in a pilot plant on site.
Finders fees are payable on completion of the final agreement.
Negotiations are taking place with the various Chinese government organizations
with regards to approvals of Ding Ma - Zhenan gold mine joint venture. It has
recently come to the company's attention that according to the new mining law
passed by the People's Congress in Beijing, exploration rights to a large portion of
the Ding - Ma property are held by gold police, a Chinese central government
organization. The company anticipates completion of amended agreements with
the gold police, and all parties and organizations involved, in the near future."
