August 28: Laurentians municipality fights $96M lawsuit from mining giant in Quebec's Court of Appeal

Really ? CCB is now a "mining giant ? Those wacky Canadians "community activists"...swatting at flies while adopting the language of giant killers ?

The SLAPP action was previously slapped down... Quebec Superior Court Concludes that Canada Carbon’s Damage Claim is not a SLAPP Action

The rest appears to be confusion on the difference between what the law is... and what good faith requires... and what some wish the law would be instead... while they continue to act outside of good faith... to impose a result they want that isn't supported by the law.

The proceedings, thus far, appear to amply substantiate the claims that there is a clear lack of good faith... on the part of the municipality.

Even if the law were to be changed... that future change wouldn't alter the errors... and the liability... that has been entrained in the choices made here ?

There was an August 28 court date... which the first links shows did occur ? Arguments were presented... but no news in result anywhere I see on that front beyond, as the article notes: "The panel of judges said it would take time to consider the facts before deciding if the lawsuit can proceed".

Tick, tock... any guess on how long they typically take to decide on similar issues ?
