Boy I wish I had some more loose cash for this company. I've just come from viewing the two Walmarts here in the St. Pete area. Get this...the clerks in both stores said they'd been restocked on Radica three times since Christmas and were expecting another middle of next week. Their racks were pretty full up with the Sub and Tank games, but Bass Fishing was empty. They had Lunker and Deep Sea, and some of the Junior Bass. One Bowling in each store, no casino games in either. The clerks said they're still selling about 50 of the fishing games a week in this post Christmas period, and that there's been some people coming back for Lunker Bass, after Bass Fishing grew boring. The Tank and Sub games sell about 15% as frequently as do the fishing versions. How are we selling compared to Tiger? "Tiger's pretty flat now." Hey, how many stores does Walmart have?
But you know, I have a hunch a lot of people really think this one is a "fad" toy....thus shortable. Even me...as I look at them on the hooks they do seem almost faddish. But 50 a week! Pretty strong fad. Gee, what happens when the the TV ads hit? Walmart's prices are between $14 and $23...say $7-$11 for Radica, mebbe $3.50 of that hits our bottom line, or $350/wk just in 2 St. Pete stores...X the # stores X 52 weeks divided by # shares....isn't that about $2.00 per share...just from Walmart? I'm getting dizzy...will somebody please check my math. Anybody got info from other stores to add to this?
Let's see. I can hock the camera, my favorite shotgun, the toaster oven....Chaz. |
