A bit simplistic... the old Us vs Commie line.. This is the US capitalist system coming back to bite them in the ass..It was great in the 50s and 60s.. when much more of the world starved.. started to slowly change in the 70s.. and then picked up steam as relations with China improved... I understand why Mr. Trump is doing this... but now more people / countries want a slice of the pie.. a fairer slice.. have tasted that pie.. so something has to give... we cannot go back to the 60s... Life has changed drastically in many ways ... also speaking to why this trade war exists... This has also enabled the rich/poor gap in rich countries... This is really an old topic now much chatted about often over a decade ago on Booms Busts and elsewhere... It has come home to roost...
