Jim, perhaps on the part of people who genuinely have very religious natures, and find this offensive based on that, there is a tone of moral judgment being used to justify a sexual witch hunt.
I am a pagan, and certainly wouldn't go after anyone for their private sexual behavior. It does become a spectacle when the nightly news is x-rated, and I am not sure what to do about that. But my qualms about Clinton are simply that I believe he MAY be guilty of felonies like perjury, suborning perjury, and obstruction of justice, has really bad judgment, and has totally lost the trust of many Americans. Not a really good situation for a president.
I do have a fourteen-year-old daughter, and while I got lucky this week because she is hiking in the snow at Yosemite away from any television whatsoever, or newspapers, she will be back this weekend and will undoubtedly have questions for me when she absorbs this. Particularly, how a man who professes to be a feminist and loves women, could manage to hurt and dishonor so many of them. |
