Obama's Russia Quid Pro Quo: Time to Prosecute?

Is it time to prosecute former President Barack Obama?
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Congressman Adam Schiff, and Congressman Jerrold Nadler have announced impeachment charges for President Trump. The very first Article quite specifically says this of the President’s famous phone call with the president of UkraineHouse.
“Using the powers of his high office, President Trump solicited the interference of a foreign government, Ukraine, in the 2020 United States Presidential election.”
Well now. Isn’t this interesting? Recall this story that made news in March of 2012? Here’s the story as it appeared in Reuters on March 26, 2012. The headline: Obama tells Russia’s Medvedev more flexibility after election.
The story begins this way:
“SEOUL (Reuters) – President Barack Obama was caught on camera on Monday assuring outgoing Russian President Dmitry Medvedev that he will have “more flexibility” to deal with contentious issues like missile defense after the U.S. presidential election.
Obama, during talks in Seoul, urged Moscow to give him “space” until after the November ballot, and Medvedev said he would relay the message to incoming Russian president Vladimir Putin.”
Stop. Full stop. Let’s read that line from today’s Article of Impeachment again. It reads:
“Using the powers of his high office, President Trump solicited the interference of a foreign government, Ukraine, in the 2020 United States Presidential election.”
Hello? One does not have to be a rocket scientist to see that President Obama did exactly what Democrats now want to impeach Trump for. Obama quite specifically offered a quid pro quo to the Russians – he would give Russian President Vladimir Putin something on missile defense and other “contentious issues” – if Putin would in return give Obama “space” until after the November election. Which is to say, President Obama was asking the Russians to interfere in the 2012 US election to his, Obama’s benefit.
That, ladies and gentlemen, is called a quid pro quo.
So. Now that we are clear on the Pelosi, Schiff and Nadler view of this, clearly the former President should be prosecuted.
