I obviously did not do enough homework. I thought that by calling there customer service number that I would be informed of EXACTLY what I needed. Unfortunately, it appears that the management of EchoStar kept pertinent information from their CSRs.

I could not receive the local channels over the airwaves. We tried several antennaes with very little success. Satellite providers may now provide local channels. I was previously using PrimeTime24 but I really missed the local news and my football team was never on (the Atlanta Falcons are not the greatest of teams).

I believe that the locals would have a difficult time booting me from coverage. My area, Suwanee, is in the coverage under its OLD ZIP code. Just because the Zip Code changed, it should not prevent me from being able to receive the channels. At least, that's the line I got from EchoStar.

I saw your earlier post about the 5000 for $199. They list it for $299 right now but they are out of stock. I will keep looking at their site for a sale. I bought a 5000 and a 1000. What a mistake to buy the 1000. I would like another 5000 and I'd like to hook it up with Internet services when they make it available.
