Actually, I believe, for the first time since September there are viable alternatives to the CRN/ACA/DML plays. What you are seeing at the moment is the flight of frustrated "gold guys/gals" out of the base metal plays back to their niche' GOLD.

I believe it was not coincidence that while Gold esculated CRN faultered. I think there will be some instability that will extend into next week. The instability will be in direct proportion to the direction and speed of ascent or descent of gold.

In saying this there is a "small bootstrap" between gold and base metals . You'll notice as gold climbed so did copper and silver. I haven't checked yet but I would think nickle would also have done some recovery. Palladium and platinum would also be down for the same reason that CRN was, although that is a little harder to grasp.

If gold continues upward next week, the next casualty will be DML and to a lesser degree ACA.

When I say casualties I mean a 10-15 cent downturn at worse.

All this is IMHO, it is not intended to create, anxiety, heart tremors, strokes, or the return to the "bottle".

Have a good weekend
