The bridge loan does 3 things for Dr. Anil Diwan. It gets him 12% monthly interest on his money, it provides coverage when people show up with pitchforks after the bankruptcy by appearing to be him doing all he can to help the company succeed and it allows them to keep pursuing additional capital that if secured (very unlikely) would allow him to continue to make his salary, bonus, and siphon money from Nanoviricides to Theracour. Your post supports my second point.
