I would say buyer beware in the long term I can't see this as a secular change. Trust me I looked very hard at SSI last year when they were restructuring their business to implement Gordman's type of concept into all of their stores but refrained given Gordman's in the long run failed. If I could do a comp Stein Mart would be the ideal candidate for replication of the business model which is struggling in itself. The only difference is SSI tends to target smaller markets. SSI acquired Gordman's in bankruptcy a few years ago.

SSI and Gordman's are quite prolific where I live and I find it hard to justify chasing SSI's recent performance from a longer term point of view. Implementing the Gordman's concept in all of its stores from all apparel to include decorations and housewares is certainly driving new traffic from the changes but in the long run nothing earth shaking and competition will eventually take over as consumer interest from the new offerings wears off.
