It is not sure that the tax relief proposed by Bruno Le Maire this Monday, November 2 is enough to repatriate the production of vehicles in France.

"We do not want this model anymore" , said Bruno Le Maire, Minister of the Economy, aiming at relocation, during the day of the car industry this Monday, November 2nd. ERIC PIERMONT / AFP

See the Clio and the 208, the two best selling models in France, produced and assembled in Morocco, Slovakia and Turkey, the government does not solve it.

Monday, during the day devoted to the automotive industry in Bercy, the Minister of Economy called on manufacturers and equipment manufacturers to relocate their jobs in France.

Bruno Le Maire believes that the model of development of car manufacturers, which consists in exporting parts to low-cost countries to assemble vehicles then imported to France, was aeconomic and ecological failure".

"France is the European country that has most relocated its car industry during the last decadeSays the minister to several hundred representatives of the automotive sector. A recent note from INSEE illustrates the logic of foreign establishment of French automobile groups in 2016.
