12/20/2019 Contest update
The “2020 Biotech Stock Charity Contest” is now accepting portfolios!
Here’s the link to the Contest board:
Subject 60090

The Contest submission deadline is Sunday, 1/5/2020, Midnight, PST.
Please read the Contest Guidelines before posting your portfolio.
Attention Veteran Contestants! Please help me publicize the 2020 Contest by posting the Contest info and link on boards & Twitter sites where biotechies hang out.

Biotech stocks kept rolling along oblivious to the drama in DC. And with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell burying a bipartisan drug price control bill, there seems little fear such legislation will be approved anytime soon.
At Friday’s close, the Contest median, up 44.08% YTD (vs. up 41.21% a week ago), maintained its large lead over the biotech indexes. The Nasdaq Biotech Index (NBI) was up 25.87% YTD (vs. up 24.19% a week ago) and the smaller-cap S&P Biotechnology Select Industry Index (SPSIBI) was up 34.05% YTD (vs. up 32.29% a week ago), while the Nasdaq Composite Index (NCI) was up 34.51% YTD (vs. up 31.64% YTD a week ago).
With only 8 trading days left in the year, HOOD’s portfolio, up an awesome 203.69% YTD, is the heavy favorite to win the Contest. Both second place KMASTR’s portfolio, up 166.32% YTD, and third place OHMS’ portfolio, up 133.81% YTD, have also performed spectacularly.
At Friday's close, 33 of the 39 Contest portfolios were still in the green, while 29 were now beating the NBI and 25 were now beating the SPSIBI. Plus 8 of the 39 portfolios have doubled YTD!
The 167 Contest stock picks have an average YTD gain of 42.71% and a median YTD gain of 10.42%.
Below is the Top Ten list. Also below are the Top 5 & Bottom 5 Stocks for the week ranked by % Gained and % Lost YTD. (Prices not converted to US$ in these Tables.)
Portfolio adjustments: PLX did a 1-10 reverse split.
(All corrections, especially adjustments for splits & mergers, greatly appreciated.)
Best to all for a joyful Holiday Season!
Peace & good health,
Bulba
