Nowadays, I eat to live. Most Americans live to eat. Prior to having diabetes, I ate pasta 3-4 times a week, had a chocolate chip cookie, Hershey bar and ice cream every day. I also ate 6-8 slices of pizza per week. I changed my diet radically and within a couple of months I was down to prediabetic and now normal. I thought I became diabetic as a result of an allergic reaction to Azithromycin. But my endocrinologist was sceptical of that assessment. He didn't rule out that possibility, but didn't buy into my reasoning.
