There seems to be a pattern of investigations that uncover indisputable corruptions and crime and then the conclusion is not to prosecute. For example, the AG found that Hillary had stored top secret state content on private email servers, but then said that was not a crime, when it is the very definition of a felony....gross negligence in the handling of state secrets. So far, I am not impressed by our system of justice. It regularly throws the book at the 99% and then let's the 1% and the people in power get away with murder. Will this time be any different? I hope Barr understands that we're at the particular crossroads in American history when the masses are waking up to the fact that they get no justice and that our system of justice not only protects the well connected, but gives them a pass when they commit massive crimes.
If Barr or Durham or Trump continues to punt on all of this, then eventually, the American people are going to start remembering that particular quote from the Declaration of Independence:
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. |
