If you just want to lose weight ( and don't have diabetes), you have to change your lifestyle and exercise more. Walking for at least a half hour a day is a starting point.

I found when I gave up red meat, my blood pressure went down considerably. I am now 95-100/60 with a heart rate of 70. Too much saturated fat clogs the arteries. Yes, I know, all meat diets have been successful for some looking to lose weight.

I have nothing against red meat. I ate it for most of my life and loved it, but don't miss it any longer. I have developed the same craving for salmon that I use to have for a NY Porterhouse steak.

Also, the key to losing weight is walking away from the table feeling comfortable without stuffing yourself. Stuffing yourself is a great American very unhealthy tradition. There is nothing wrong in walking away from the table a little hungry or still wanting more to eat till your stuffed.

I am a little surprised that you found vegetables stuffed you. It does not do that to me. But then again, I am not looking to gain or lose weight.
