Question: Is the way we see Trump the way he is, or is it a show for the public?
Oh no…the REAL Donald Trump is far worse than the edited and sanitized version of him on display for the public.
Let’s review:
Donald Trump spent decades bedding, apparently sexually assaulting, and generally disparaging women - Yet since he’s been president, with the exception of disparaging Democratic members of Congress, he’s been virtually silent about his opinions of women. It’s clear that Trump still holds the same views as he did during the Access Hollywood recording (see below) but now has people screening them better.
Donald Trump is abysmally stupid - While dribs and drabs leak out (Moving Seoul, Korea; “covefefe”, low flow toilets, nuking hurrianes, etc.) the TRULY MORONIC ramblings are being kept under wraps and out of his Twitter feed.
Donald Trump is a jerk - There are DECADES of documented instances of Trump been a complete tool. However they have been limited since his election to those which cannot be hidden easily (Him pushing past the Macedonian President seen below, his arguing with Nancy Pelosi before the 2019 government shutdown, his remarks about Pocahontas in front fo Native Americans,etc.) and it’s a virtual certainty that he’s even more obnoxious behind closed doors.
Donald Trump is vain - What rational 73-year old man has himself spray tanned orange and then blames lights for “giving him an orange appearance”? What logical person continues with an absurd comb-over decades after it’s been readily apparent that’s what it is? What stable individual would frequently refer to himself as a “stable genius” even though that term evokes laughter more often than agreement? However vain Trump appears to be in public, it must be magnified when there aren’t people around who can and will make fun of him.
Donald Trump is boring - He’s a guy who is a narcissist, who isn’t very smart, and who’s done paltry little that is impressive in his life. That type of person is only going to want to discuss himself, and that grows old quickly. As exhibited by his nearly hour-long rambling on Fox & Friends (see below) Donald Trump is a boring orator when he’s in a friendly venue and would almost certainly be even less entertaining in private. We never see that as his handlers carefully stage manage the views that the public gets of him.Donald Trump is far worse in person, and the fact that you hear of relatively few people claiming the converse, supports my answer even better than the links below do.
