WA votes by mail and it is easy. I asked our county auditor about this when I went in to observe and he explained it really is. Those who examine the ballots - a Democrat and a Republican on each one - check signatures and everything.. They have film of all ballots being dropped off in the drop boxes. So I felt a lot better about it.

Now. King County is something else because they are all insane there.
