Country Maid Foods Inc. Announces Record Year
AURORA, Mo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 9, 1997--Country Maid Foods Inc.
(OTC:CMFI) announced today that revenue for the fiscal year ended March 31, 1997, increased 52% to $5,715,711 from $3,772,678 in the same period a year ago.
Net income increased dramatically on an accrued basis showing a loss of $8,481 for the year compared to a loss of $321,643 a year ago. However, the auditors reported a cash basis profit of $248,667 for income tax purposes. The company attributed the increases to
better cost controls and higher prices for its commercial egg production and egg products.
''We are optimistic that the company can continue to improve its
revenues and earnings in the years ahead,'' said Country Maid Foods Inc. President John C. Moneymaker. He also indicated that the company is pursuing other agricultural ventures to supplement the company's revenue and earnings base.
