Sadly, in Canada during the last term of gov't, Gerald Butts brought in all his hard core radical ENGO friends who are now in charge of all policy development, legislation and implementation. Canada is headed for a green dystopia.

The climate prospects for Canada are looking bleak, especially if the grain belt in western Canada may be gone in as little as 10 years. The climate impacts will also impact forestry and ecology as people will cut and burn every tree within reach to keep from freezing.
I am currently in Arizona and seriously looking around in southern Arizona for some property. Prices are still comparatively reasonable. A century ago, it was much wetter in Arizona, with more grasslands and cattle. The climate in Arizona may revert to those historical conditions over the next decade if the global cooling continues down the paths suggested by Zharkova and Rolf. Buying real estate of any kind in Canada looks to be a bad idea unless you are on the coast and prepared to eat walrus, seal, fish, the odd caribou and muskox etc.....
